A recent report by Sergio Fernandez, shared via FCB World, highlights that the Supreme Council’s decision regarding the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor will take five days to come.

However, this timeframe means that even if Barcelona progress to the Spanish Super Cup final, Olmo and Victor will not be eligible to play.

Barcelona have already taken action by reaching out to the High Council of Sports, hoping to find a legal loophole to allow the registration of both players.

This effort included submitting a detailed 52-page document, accompanied by over 60 attachments, to make their case.

The club’s goal is to ensure Olmo and Victor can be included in the Saudi Super Cup, pushing for what they refer to as a “precautionary measure.”

Major challenge for Barcelona

Despite their efforts, time constraints pose a significant challenge. Without presenting new facts or evidence not previously included in the original file, Barcelona may find their case dismissed.

Normally, under administrative procedure law, a response timeframe of ten days is allowed for objections. However, for urgent cases, this is reduced to five days.

The process depends on whether the Council opts to allow objections, which is typically expected.

Trouble for Barcelona

It must be noted that Olmo has travelled to Saudi Arabia with the team. Some interpret this as a pressure tactic, while others see it as an attempt to keep the player involved in the squad’s activities and training sessions.

Realistically, the chances of him participating in any match in the Spanish  Super Cup appear slim. His involvement in the remainder of the season with Barcelona also remains uncertain until a clear decision is reached.

For now, the situation underscores Barcelona’s ongoing battle with regulatory hurdles, as they continue their push to find a solution for Olmo and Victor’s inclusion in the squad. Whether their persistence pays off remains to be seen.
