Former Roma defender Dean Huijsen looked back on his brief yet intense loan spell in the Italian capital.
Having joined the Giallorossi on a dry loan from Juventus in January 2024, Huijsen went on to play for Bournemouth before securing a move to Real Madrid this summer.

In an interview with AS, the Spaniard discussed his time at Roma and the impact of Jose Mourinho who recruited him there in the first place.
“I was with my family and the phone rang. It was Mourinho,” recounted Huijsen. “I couldn’t believe it.”
“I’m very grateful to him and I’m very happy to have been at Roma.”
“Mourinho chose me, you know how he is. He’s someone who isn’t afraid and if he thinks of something, he does it without fear.”
