Davies and Canada victorious over Peru | OneFootball

Alphonso Davies and his Canada team got their first win of the 2024 Copa América with a 1-0 victory over Peru on Tuesday. Jonathan David scored the only goal in the 74th minute in Kansas City, after Miguel Araujo had been sent off for the Peruvians just before the hour mark. Davies captained his country again and played the full 90 minutes at Children’s Mercy Park.

Canada now have three points after two games to sit second in Group A behind Argentina (six points). Chile and Peru have one point apiece. The top two will advance to the quarter-finals of the South American competition, which is being played in the USA this year with additional teams from North and Central America.
