Nico Williams, Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho are all targets for Chelsea as they look for a new winger according to David Ornstein.

Chelsea are set for another busy summer and could fund their business by selling as many as seven or eight players.

The Blues face a critical window with the club looking to sign a striker, centre back and right footed attacker to strengthen Enzo Maresca’s squad.

There’s set to be plenty of movement in the wides areas this summer, with Chelsea yet to decide if they’ll keep Jadon Sancho, whilst Noni Madueke has been linked with a move away.

Estevao Willian will arrive after the Club World Cup, whilst it’s unclear if or when Mykhailo Mudryk will play for the club again following a positive doping test.

Maresca is said to want five wingers in his squad next season and Ornstein has provided an update on Chelsea’s search for a new wide player.

“Nico Williams, Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho,” he told The Athletic.

“They probably aren’t the only candidates, though, and it is a position Chelsea can be expected to strengthen this summer.”

Chelsea are said to be leading the race for Gittens, with the 20-year-old having a productive season at Borussia Dortmund, and the Blues could land him for around €50m.

Garnacho was linked with the Blues in January, but the club decided against making a move, and it’s a player supporters don’t seem overly keen on.

Chelsea could really do with a goalscoring winger, but those are hand to find and the market for wide players certainly isn’t the best.

Williams has an affordable release clause at around £49m, and the Spain international is clearly a big talent, but his wage demands are likely to be out reach.
