City’s Men’s team will return to training at the start of next week.

After a long domestic campaign and our participation at the FIFA Club World Cup, the players are currently enjoying a well-earned break with their families.

They will be back at the CFA ahead of the 2025/26 campaign on Monday 28 July as pre-season begins in earnest.

In addition, we have already announced a Men’s and Women’s First Team open training session at the Joie Stadium on Tuesday 5 August.

The event, called City Are Back presented by Etihad Airways, offers supporters the chance to watch the two squads train, including seeing our new signings up close on home soil for the first time.

Fans will also hear directly from our new recruits, while newly appointed Manchester City Women’s Head Coach Andrée Jeglertz will address the Joie Stadium crowd.

Tickets for the special event are priced at £5 for adults, and £3 for Under 21s and Over 65s and are now on general sale, after a period of exclusive access for official members.

Pep Guardiola is also expected to say a few words ahead of the new season with the event hosted by our Match Day Live presenters.

Our pre-season prep will end with a friendly away at Palermo FC ahead of the Premier League campaign start against Wolves a week later.

Guardiola’s side will travel to the Italian island of Sicily to take on City Football Group (CFG) sister club Palermo FC to contest the inaugural Anglo Palermitan Trophy.

The game will take place at the Renzo Barbera Stadium on Saturday 9 August with kick-off confirmed for 20.00 (UK) / 21.00 (local).

CITY+ subscribers can watch the prestigious friendly live.

Guardiola’s side will be looking to step up preparations ahead of the 2025/26 campaign with new signings Rayan Ait-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli, Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders all keen to impress on the eve of their first campaign with the Blues.

For Palermo, it’s a perfect way to kick off their anniversary celebrations as they mark 125 years since their inception as the Anglo Palermitan Athletic & Football Club.
