A date and kick-off time for City’s Under-19s’ trip to AK Alkmaar in the UEFA Youth League has been confirmed.

Our quarter-final tie will see us travel to the Dutch outfit for a 17:00 (UK) kick-off on Wednesday 2 April.

The AZ Trainingcomplex B.V. will host the two sides.

Ben Wilkinson’s side qualified for the final eight after a Round of 32 penalty shootout triumph over FC Midtjylland before a tense 2-1 win over Hoffenheim in the Round of 16.

It’s the furthest City have progressed in the competition since 2017/18 and our young boys in blue will be facing the 2022/23 champions in our latest test.

In their latest European test, Alkmaar beat Real Madrid 2-0 in the Round of 16. Prior to that they overcame Benfica on penalties after progressing to the knockout stage of the Youth League via the Champions Pathway.

The winner of our match will face either Stuttgart or Barcelona in the semi-finals in Switzerland at the end of April.

Until our trip to Holland, Wilkinson and the team will be fully focused on our Premier League 2 game against Crystal Palace before the international break.
