Liverpool have spent £260m already this summer but there are no plans to stop there. Having added Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong and Giorgi Mamardashvili, the Reds are looking stronger than ever.
Richard Hughes, the club’s sporting director, has overseen a remarkable summer of spending - including a British record fee for Wirtz. But that record is ALREADY in danger of tumbling.

There are encouraging signs in Liverpool’s attempts to sign Alexander Isak with the player making it clear he no longer wishes to play for Newcastle.
The North East club have been left stunned by the 25-year-old reluctance to discuss a new contract and he is not part of the travelling party for the preseason Asian tour.
According to a new report in TEAMtalk, Liverpool are prepared to meet Newcastle’s £150m valuation. But after completing a blockbuster series of deals, this transfer will require outgoings.
According to the same report, it is claimed that FOUR players are going to be sold in order to make space in the budget - and the squad for Isak.
The first name mentioned is Luis Diaz - who is set to put pen to paper on a deal to join Bayern Munich. Diaz will go for around £65m - not a bad return for a 28-year-old who cost £37.5m in 2022.
Then there’s Darwin Nunez. Liverpool value the Uruguayan hitman at around £60m and he could join Juventus in Serie A or else move to Saudi Arabia.
Harvey Elliott is another who could find himself squeezed out this summer in order to accommodate Isak. The 22-year-old would be worth around £50m in the open market - and he has got admirers at Tottenham, West Ham and RB Leipzig.
The final member of the quarter being told to make way is Federico Chiesa. He is being primed for a move back to Serie A having been left out of Liverpool’s preseason tour.
Chiesa would command around £15m in the transfer market - with Atalanta, AC Milan and Napoli among the teams linked with his signature.

Those players leaving would provide Arne Slot and Richard Hughes with MORE than enough money to conclude a deal for Isak - as well as clearing up a sizeable chunk of the wage bill.
Liverpool will have to find around £300k per week to pay Isak - and these four players combined are reported to earn around £350k+.
That leaves Hughes with ample room to sign Isak up - as well as ensuring that Arne Slot is not left with unhappy forwards in his squad.
Instead it will be left to Mo Salah, Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Cody Gakpo, Jeremie Frimpong and - hopefully - Isak to carry the fight next season for the title-holders.
