Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers face off at Selhurst Park on Tuesday, May 20th, at 8 p.m. Both sides are looking to climb the Premier League table. Palace are fresh off the back of winning the FA Cup on Saturday, and by avoiding defeat in this match, they will reach 50 league points in a top-flight season for the first time since 1991-92 (57).
Crystal Palace won their first-ever major trophy on Saturday with a historic 1-0 win at Wembley over Manchester City. It would be fair to say that these players deserve one hell of a party after such an outstanding achievement, and I think the celebrations will have impacted their preparation for this match with Wolves.
Prior to their defeats to Brighton and Manchester City, Wolves had won five consecutive matches, and at the prices, I think they are worth chancing against a potentially hungover Palace.
It’s been a strong season for Jorgen Strand Larsen at Wolves. The Norwegian has managed 13 league goals this term, with six of those coming in his last six starts. It’s well worth checking team news before the game to see if he starts, but if he does, he looks well worth a punt in the anytime scorer market at 13/5, again with Unibet.
South London erupted on Saturday as Crystal Palace lifted the FA Cup trophy at Wembley. The Eagles are unbeaten in six matches across all formats and now have the chance to reach 50 points in the top-flight, for the first time since 1992.
It doesn’t feel like it was too long ago that Wolves were battling relegation. But a winning run lifted Vitor Pereira’s men up the table to 14th, ahead of the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. Although the winning run did come to an end a couple of weeks ago, Wolves will be all about ending the season on a high and building for the new campaign.
Cheick Doucoure and Chadi Riad are both out for the season. Adam Wharton will need to be assessed after his concussion injury last weekend.
Enso Gonzalez, Yerson Mosquera, Sasa Kalajdzic and Leon Chiwone are all out for the season. Sam Johnstone will be eyeing a return from injury against his former club.
Crystal Palace have won six of their past eight league games against Wolves, drawing one and losing one. The Eagles are unbeaten in their past three games in this fixture.
