Crystal Palace are reportedly providing an exit escape from Chelsea for one senior player who wants out, according to a former scout this week.
The Blues are attempting to get some last minute deals done in the last five days of the transfer window.
Chelsea are in advanced negotiations to sign a 16-year-old full back who is not going to be improving them for the here and now.
But there have also been fresh reports suggesting that Chelsea might still do something in the forward market and bring a player in for the here and now.
All of that will need to be sped up now though if they want to do any more than just loan out Renato Veiga to Juventus, and potentially sell Cesare Casadei, although even that one is one the edge right now.
One player who has had zero links or rumours to finding a new club but needs to find one is left back Ben Chilwell. But could Palace provide that escape for the former England international?

Palace are plotting a move to sign Chilwell to help solve their depth issues at left-wing-back.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 28-year-old would be a good fit for the Eagles.
“I’ve heard Palace have shown an interest in Ben Chilwell,” Brown said.
“We’ve spoken before about Tyrick Mitchell and his future, and whether clubs could be interested in him.
“And a new left-back is something Palace have been looking to bring in because they haven’t got a lot of depth in that position.
“It wasn’t long ago he was an England international, and I don’t know the extent of his injury issues and what they’ve meant for him, but Palace will know all about it.
“It’s getting late in the transfer window as well, so options are limited.
“The opportunity to bring him in on loan has also come up since Chalobah went back to Chelsea.“
He’d do a good job for Palace. He’d be a good fit in their side. Plus, he lives in London so it’s a move that would suit all three parties.“
