Crystal Palace are in advanced negotiations to sign Villarreal winger Yeremy Pino in a deal worth around £43 million.

The 22-year-old has been identified as a priority target following the departure of Eberechi Eze to Arsenal last week.

Talks are underway with Villarreal and the deal could be finalised in the coming days.

Pino has a release clause set at £67m, but Palace are hopeful of completing the transfer for a lower fee.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the Eagles are pushing hard to bring the Spanish international to Selhurst Park.

The winger is viewed as a unique attacking option and is capable of operating both out wide and in central areas.

Palace manager Oliver Glasner views Pino as an adaptable option in his system, where attacking midfielders often drift into wide positions.

Pino contributed four goals and ten assists across all competitions for Villarreal last season.

He has also been a regular in La Liga since breaking through as a teenager, and he already has senior international experience with Spain.

Palace chairman Steve Parish is backing the move, viewing Pino as the ideal marquee signing to replace Eze.

However, Glasner has also been considering alternative options, including Club Brugge attacker Christos Tzolis.

Both players are admired within the club, and there is a possibility Palace could move for more than one forward before the transfer deadline.

Palace have endured a quiet summer transfer window, completing only two incoming transfers.

Goalkeeper Walter Benitez and full-back Borna Sosa have been the only arrivals to date, while Eze’s exit has left a major gap in the squad.

Glasner has been vocal about the need for reinforcements, particularly with Palace preparing for Europa Conference League football this season.

The additional European fixtures will demand greater squad depth, and securing a versatile attacker is vital.

Negotiations with Villarreal are ongoing, but they are reluctant sellers and would prefer to keep Pino.

Palace are expected to push hard to get the deal completed before the market closes on September 1.
