Inter Milan take on Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds this evening.

This will be the Nerazzurri’s second match of the Club World Cup group stage match. They drew 1-1 with Mexican team Monterrey in their first.

That opening day draw has left Inter with a lot of work to do over their remaining two group stage matches. After today, they will take on Argentine giants River Plate in their final group match.

A win against Urawa Reds this evening would certainly see Inter Milan take a big step towards the knockout rounds.

However, if the Nerazzurri are to draw – or worse, lose – then they would be teetering on the edge of an early elimination from the tournament.

Inter coach Cristian Chivu has made a total of five changes to his starting eleven.

The Nerazzurri coach insisted that “changes are normal, because we play every 3-4 days.”

“So some changes need to be made. Also for the match plan.”

Chivu made clear that “everyone has to be involved.”

“Because they’re a healthy part of this group. They have quality, and belong in this team.”

Meanwhile, Chivu revealed what the formation will be for Inter. “There will be two attacking midfielders playing behind one striker,” he said.

“We can also have three by having Barella step up, depending on the moment in the match and the approach that the opponent has.”

“It will probable be a more attacking decision,” said the Inter coach. “We want to have more width, some attacks between the lines, and superiority in midfield.”

Chivu made clear that “we can’t give them time and space, so they can’t cause us problems with the pace that they have.”
