A fresh insight into the regulations when it comes to the potential January departures of Barcelona pair Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor has on Thursday evening been provided.

This of course comes amid the ongoing saga surrounding the futures of the two summer arrivals in Catalunya’s capital.

As things stand, both Olmo and Víctor find themselves ineligible to line out for Hansi Flick’s Barcelona over the 2nd half of the campaign.

As much comes after the deadline for both to be registered with La Liga came and passed without news on Tuesday night.

Joan Laporta and the Camp Nou brass remain busy behind the scenes, working towards finding a solution, potentially, as early as Friday.

In the case of such endeavours coming up short, though, what are the Blaugrana’s options?

It had been suggested in the media over recent days that Olmo and Víctor could potentially be sent out on loan, if not registered to play for Barca.

As confirmed by Diario AS, however, as per Spanish football’s rules and regulations, this is in fact not an option:

‘Neither Dani Olmo nor Pau Víctor will be able to be loaned by the Blaugrana club between now and the end of the season, as the General Regulations of the RFEF require registration in order to be able to carry out a loan.’
