AC Milan’s defensive record has been nothing short of dismal this season and the management are looking to address that with two signings from Ligue 1, a report claims.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via Radio Rossonera), Geoffrey Moncada and his team of collaborators are monitoring several players that could come in to strengthen the defensive department ahead of next season.

Lilian Brassier and Tiago Santos from Brest and Lille respectively are two names they like, while the situation linked to Alessandro Buongiorno of Torino remains very complicated and he could end up abroad.

The paper goes on to state that the Rossoneri are looking for a central defender and a right-back. Regarding the former, Brassier has attracted their interest after he had an excellent season with Brest, crowned by qualification for the Champions League which could increase his price.

We were the first to report the interest in Santos of Lille, who could arrive together with head coach Paulo Fonseca given that he seems to be the frontrunner at the moment to take over from Stefano Pioli.

The big dream remains Buongiorno but Torino asking for at least €45m to sell, and that means that the most likely scenario at present is a move out of Italy.
