AC Milan are in the process of hiring a sporting director, and a decision was expected around Easter. However, the club have not yet made a decision.

The past months have been dominated by talk about a sporting director arriving at the club this summer, and there was hope that a decision would be made sooner rather than later, so the club could prepare for the mercato. However, this is not the case.

Initial suggestions were that the move would be made around the Easter period. But, it appears that we are going to be left waiting a while longer yet, as Corriere della Sera reports, via Milan News, that the club are still to decide on a primary candidate.

Igli Tare seems to be the obvious choice, given that he is unattached and is already creating plans for the future. However, Giorgio Furlani is refusing to give up on Tony D’Amico, who is without a doubt his favourite candidate.

Tempting with a move away from Atalanta is proving to be difficult currently, though, so it seems like the wait is more forced than anything.

It is a decision which could heavily backfire if the club are left red-faced, but there has to be some credit given for the persistence on display.
