Antonio Conte urged his players to ‘go and get the Scudetto’ but admitted that suffering was predictable this season: ‘It’s too much for me.’
Conte’s Napoli remained the table leaders after Serie A Round 37 with a one-point lead over Inter.
Their 0-0 away draw at Parma was harmless, as Lazio held the Nerazzurri to a 2-2 draw at San Siro.
Conte spoke to DAZN on Sunday, admitting to being exhausted, but his post-match press conference quotes were just as interesting.
“We are fully focused. Let’s not wave flags with random numbers. These guys need to be pushed toward a goal that would be truly historic. It would come just two years later, but in a way that, trust me, is unimaginable,” Conte told reporters via DAZN.

Napoli will host Cagliari in the final matchday at the Stadio Maradona on Friday, but the superstitious Conte asked the Partenopei fans not to bring any flags with the number four, anticipating their title victory.
Napoli were not among the title favourites at the start of the season, but they are now just one win away from their second Scudetto in three years.

“Sometimes people need to use their brains and say: ‘These guys are really scraping the bottom of the barrel and are still out there fighting, bothering everyone.’ That would be intellectual honesty, not saying ‘But we are suffering.’ Damn it, do you expect not to suffer?
“Two years ago, we won the Scudetto with ease, with a different team and situation,” Conte continued, visibly in a good mood.
“There was no suffering. This year, people didn’t even want to suffer a bit. Then, I throw my hands up and give up. It’s too much for me,” he said, smiling.
“But I’ll only give up afterwards. We need to reach the finish line first. Let’s go and get the Scudetto.”
