Defending Serie A champions Inter Milan will endure a game-packed schedule at the beginning of the new calendar year.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Simone Inzaghi’s side will contest as many as 15 matches in the first two months of 2025.
Indeed, the Nerazzurri could play games every three days for two months straight following a brief Christmas break.
This includes the Super Cup in Riyadh, and potentially additional matches if they reach the final.
Moreover, Inter could face two Champions League playoff games if they don’t secure automatic qualification to the Round of 16.
This would bring the total to 15 fixtures for the Giuseppe Meazza outfit.
Inter’s away game against Fiorentina had to be postponed after Edoardo Bove collapsed on the pitch.
As a result, the two teams could renew hostilities in early February.
That will put an additional squeeze on Inter’s match list at the start of 2025.
Therefore, it will be up to Inzaghi to manage his first-team stars’ playing time to avoid injuries and fatigue.
Either way, it will be an intense start to the new calendar year for the Nerazzurri.
Meanwhile, Inzaghi’s team will resume their domestic campaign on Friday with a home clash against Parma.
