Confirmed: Real Betis agree deal for Atlético Madrid star | OneFootball

The board at Real Betis have this weekend tied up a transfer agreement with their counterparts at La Liga rivals Atlético Madrid.

That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Rodrigo Riquelme as the player bound for Seville.

The name of attacker Riquelme had emerged as an altogether prominent one in the media headlines across Spain over recent days.

This came after word was forthcoming that the aforementioned Real Betis had kicked into gear talks over the 25-year-old’s signing with Atlético Madrid.

The Verdiblancos will imminently bid farewell to Como-bound Jesús Rodríguez, with Riquelme having been identified as the ideal replacement.

And as alluded to above, this weekend, Manuel Pellegrini and co. appear to have landed their man.

As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano:

‘Rodrigo Riquelme to Real Betis, here we go! Deal done on a five year contract for Roro to join Betis project. He’s the replacement for Jesús Rodriguez who’s set to join Como next week for €22.5m plus add-ons. Sell-on clause will be part of Riquelme deal with Atléti.’
