Como are ready for another busy window to fuel their hopes of avoiding relegation. They are currently 16th with a narrow lead over the bottom three. They have had some trouble due to a few injuries. Their hierarchy plots to add to their depth, Tuttomercatoweb informs.
The Lariani might have a different strategy this winter. Rather than shopping abroad, they could target underutilized contributors from the top Serie A sides. They have reached out to Davide Calabria, who’s not starring regularly at Milan. He has just six months left on his contract, with slim chances of obtaining an extension.
Como have also laid eyes on Fabiano Parisi. His agent stated he’d leave in January because of his small role. However, he’s featuring more after Cristiano Biraghi was frozen out. The Rossoneri have earmarked him as a potential Theo Hernandez deputy.
The Lombardy side is keeping tabs on Napoli as well, as they are interested in Rafa Marin. He could depart, either on loan or permanently, if the Azzurri snap up one or two defenders.
In the meantime, they are closing in on an agreement for a new goalie, Jean Butez from Royal Antwerp, as Pepe Reina and Emil Audero have been pedestrian so far.
They probably already have the squad to build some separation from the other minnows once they are fully healthy and the players gel completely between each other and with Cesc Fabregas, but surely some reinforcements wouldn’t hurt. Keeping a few holdovers was commendable, but the quality of their XI took a toll when they had to turn to the second-stringers.
