Como set for talks with ex-Man Utd defender Raphael Varane

Former Manchester United and French national team star Raphael Varane is a target for Serie A side Como and talks are expected to be held soon.

Varane left United at the end of the 2023/24 season as his contract had expired. Gianluca di Marzio has reported that Como are working on a move for the Frenchman and there is a possibility of them signing the defender on a free transfer this summer.

Varane will be in the city next week to hold talks with the newly promoted club and he will be accompanied by hsi entourage. Contacts took place in the last few days and fresh talks will be held during the upcoming meeting. Varane wants to know about the project on offer and about the culture of the city.

The defender is said to be seriously considering the move as his next destination and the move is slowly gathering pace.
