CM: Definitely and maybe – Morata and Bennacer futures revisited as Milan seek summer funds

Alvaro Morata and Ismael Bennacer left AC Milan in the January mercato, and their fates may be shared again this summer it seems.

There is a need to raise funds this summer, even if Milan qualify for the Europa League, and the easiest way of doing so is via the loan market. At present, the Rossoneri have a number of players away from the club who can certainly bridge a gap.

So, Calciomercato.com have looked at the different situations that are currently being discussed, and they involve the Spaniard and the Algerian.

Starting with Morata, it seems his time with Galatasary will definitely continue, considering Victor Osimhen will depart, whilst Mauro Icardi is struggling with a knee injury still. If this happens, the Diavolo will technically gain €3 million if he departs permanently next season – the clause is worth €6m this summer, whilst next year it increases to €9m.

For Bennacer, the situation is not as clear. Once again, the midfielder’s body has been a halting point, with him struggling with injuries in France meaning his playing time has been somewhat limited.

He is unsure about a return to Italy this summer, and whilst OM have a €12m clause in his loan deal, they are unsure if they want to take it currently, though discussions will be had shortly with Champions League football now secured.
