Club World Cup Fantasy tips: The best of Bayern and Dortmund assets

With yet another fantasy football game taking place this summer in the form of the Club World Cup, we at Bulinews decided to highlight they most attractive assets from the Bundesliga's two representatives in Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

Goalkeepers

Goalkeeper is a niche spot in the fantasy football world because you are solely reliant on clean sheets or high save counts. Personally speaking, I like to try find the balance between quality and value for money. From the two clubs representing the Bundesliga at the Club World Cup, it's hard to look past Gregor Kobel ($5.4m) and Manuel Neuer ($5.6m).

Both are marginally overpriced in my view, but I'd lean towards the BVB shot-stopper for sheer number of saves made and his slightly cheaper price. It's worth mentioning I'd expect both Bayern and Dortmund to give some game time to second choice keepers Alexander Meyer ($4.9m) and Jonas Urbig ($4.5m) against easier opposition.

Defenders

In defence, the go-to names for value alone are Bayern's Josip Stanisic ($4.9m) and Waldemar Anton ($4.6m) from BVB. With the Bavarians low on defensive personnel, I expect Stanisic to play the majority of games at centre-back. Meanwhile, Anton comes in at a bargain price in a Dortmund backline that really impressed towards the end of last season. He also boasts decent threat from corners and crosses.

If you are looking for defenders with increased attacking output, Bayern's Raphäel Guerreiro ($5.8m) has a great eye for a pass and likes to venture forward. From a Borussia Dortmund perspective, Julian Ryerson ($4.9m) brings energy to the flanks and is capable of providing an assist or shooting for goal if the space is there. He is also considerably cheaper than his younger understudy Daniel Svensson.

Midfielders

Midfield is where they party starts and it's hard to go far without mentioning Bayern's French maestro Michael Olise. At $9.4m, it appears expensive but the winger chipped in with 12 goals and 15 assists across the Bundesliga campaign. Jamal Musiala ($9.4m) can always produce magic but he is just returning from injury, meanwhile a cheaper Joshua Kimmich ($6.2m) is a certainty for minutes and enjoys a fair share of set-piece responsibilities.

Karim Adeyemi ($8m) is unquestionably the first choice in the Dortmund 'midfield'. I say 'midfield' because the German often plays in a forward's role and has a knack of finding the net. He was a fan favourite of the Champions League fantasy game this season, scoring 5 goals while winning 2 penalties. Julian Brandt ($6.5m) comes in at a cheaper price point and seems to have rediscovered some form under Niko Kovač with 2 goals and 4 assists in the final four Bundesliga games of 2024-25.

Forwards

Finally, the Bundesliga brings two of the world's finest marksmen to the USA this summer in the form of Bayern's Harry Kane ($11m) and Serhou Guirassy ($9m) of Dortmund. The former netted 26 goals to become top-scorer as the Bavarians reclaimed the Meisterschale, meanwhile the latter fired in 21 goals taking the runner-up spot in the hunt for the Torjägerkanone (top-scorer canon). Both are ruthlessly efficient penalty takers too!
