Liverpool face yet more competition for Adrien Rabiot should they opt to send a contract the Frenchman’s way with Galatasaray now making an offer for the out-of-contract midfielder.

Rabiot, 29, left Juventus disappointed with his last-minute decision to let his contract elapse on June 30 without lining up a renewal.

The Italian giants had offered the France international a two-year deal, with an option for a third on a salary of around €7.5 million to €8m.

It was expected that Rabiot and his representative, mother Veronique, would reply to Juve’s renewal attempts before he jetted off with Les Bleus for Euro 2024.

However, he began the tournament with his future unresolved and confirmed earlier this week that he no longer considered himself a Juve player.

He joined the Old Lady back in 2019 on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain, winning a Serie A title as well as two Coppa Italia trophies.

Rabiot wanted across Europe

However, he now looks set to move on with a Europe-wide clamour for his signature emerging.

Liverpool were named as surprise suitors for Rabiot by the Italian media last week with Real Madrid reckoned to be the player’s preferred destination.

Earlier this week it was also reported that the player’s mother and agent had offered his services to Barcelona with the cash-strapped Catalans unable to sign players for a fee until outgoings are completed.

Turkish outlet Fanatik now reports that Galatasaray have accepted Rabiot’s contract demands and are pushing for him to join the Turkish champions.

Liverpool's midfield wishlist

It’s an ambitious move on the part of the Istanbul side with Rabiot very much on the wishlist of some of Europe’s top sides.

Whether the Reds follow through on their initial reported interest remains to be seen.

Rabiot is one of a number of midfielders linked with a move to Anfield this summer with Atalanta pair Ederson and Teun Koopmeiners - along with Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich - also mentioned.

Youssouf Fofana, Rabiot’s French teammate who plays for Monaco, has also been touted as an option.
