Claudio Ranieri blames Roma’s lack of focus for loss to Como | OneFootball

Claudio Ranieri shared his view on the team’s performance and what led to the Giallorossi conceding two late goals to Como in last night’s defeat.

In his post-match presser Ranieri said, “It is not possible that a team like Roma comes second on the first and second balls, it is not possible that on some free kicks and corners Roma are less focused and attentive than their opponent.”

“We had talked about it, we knew that Como were very good at moving the ball. When you see that your team does not react you feel sorry.”

“It is a shame because overall the performance was there. I made the substitutions telling those who came in that the game had changed, that they needed to bring something different.”

“As for their attitude I cannot reproach them, but it is the attention to details and the focus: on the free kick of the goal we left one of our midfielders with their striker, why? If Vlahovic or Lukaku had been there would we have done the same? We would have put a defender with a striker.”

“These are small details that make you understand that you must always be present, always focused.”
