The Brazilian scored four and created another as Pep Guardiola’s side triumphed 5-1.
It kept City top of the Premier League as we went on to win the title while Watford, then managed by Roy Hodgson, were relegated.
The two sides have met once before in the League Cup, back in 1987, when a David White brace and Paul Stewart goal saw us win 3-1 at Maine Road.
The Carabao Cup has been a successful competition for Guardiola, winning it four successive years between 2018 and 2021.
However, we were knocked out at the third round stage last season when we lost 1-0 at Newcastle United with Alexander Isak scoring the only goal.
