City to face Plymouth in FA Cup fifth round

Manchester City have been drawn at home to Plymouth Argyle in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Conducted by Alex Scott and Theo Walcott, the draw means Pep Guardiola's men will welcome our Championship opponents to the Etihad Stadium across the first weekend of March.

City have beaten Salford and Leyton Orient to reach the fifth round this season, winning 8-0 and 2-1 respectively.

Plymouth, meanwhile, beat Premier League side Brentford before pulling off the shock of the fourth round by beating Liverpool at Home Park.

Our last clash with the Pilgrims came back in 1989 when City won 2-0 at Maine Road in the Old Division Two, with our only FA Cup meeting also ending in victory for the Blues the year before.

Plymouth currently sit bottom of the Championship but have won each of their last two games in all competitions under new manager Miron Muslic.

City reached the final of last season's FA Cup, with our most recent success coming during our Treble-winning campaign in 2022/23.

In total, the Blues have won the trophy seven times, two of those coming during Pep Guardiola's reign.
