Manchester City and Goal Click are collaborating to capture the passion and diversity of the City fanbase in the United States before the club embarks on its FIFA Club World Cup journey.
We will share the personal stories of City supporters across six US cities, highlighting the unique ways they support the team.
Originally from Haiti, Steve Cadet now lives in Atlanta, where he shares his love for Manchester City with his fellow ATL Cityzens.
My name is Steve Cadet, and I am 41 years old. I was born in Port-De-Paix, Haiti, and moved to the United States when I was 18. I currently work as a Community Relations Manager for a healthcare company.
Growing up in Haiti, I fell in love with the game by watching matches on TV, even though we only had electricity during the most popular games.
Because of this, I became a huge fan of Brazil. I still remember staying up all night to watch the 2002 FIFA World Cup, even though I had work the next day.
Playing pick-up games in Haiti was such a blast. We would wake up early at around 6am to hit the pitch and play soccer for a few hours.
Then, we would be back out there after our day was done to play until the sun went down.
We played like it was the World Cup. There were always arguments and banter because nobody wanted to lose.
But once the games ended, it was all love. We would hang out, laugh, and just enjoy being together.
I tried out for my high school team, but did not make the cut because they were looking for freshman players, hoping to build a squad that could develop over four years.
That did not stop me. Football was part of my everyday life. If I was not playing at the park, I was watching a match or playing FIFA.
At one point, I followed almost everything: the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, CONCACAF, international friendlies - you name it. If there was a game on, I usually watched it.
I started paying attention to Manchester City in 2008, and a few years later, they brought in players like Yaya Touré, Mario Balotelli from Inter, Sergio Agüero, Carlos Tevez, and more.
Their style was fluid, attacking football. That is why I began to watch them regularly.
As Manchester City built their squad and style, I became more interested. They played a tiki-taka style of football, meaning they kept the ball and built play from the back.
They started signing technical players who could carry and control the ball.
With Yaya Touré anchoring the midfield, they began playing through the middle. That is the kind of football I love, and it stood out to me.
But it was not until 2012 that I truly fell in love with the club when Sergio Agüero scored THAT unforgettable goal to seal a first Premier League title.
The passion and pure emotion from the players and fans in that moment said everything.
The fans flooded the field. Agüero ripped off his shirt and ran, the team followed, and the commentators were electric. It gave me chills.
That is when I knew City was my club.
Being a Manchester City supporter in Atlanta has been an amazing experience.
I found a group of supporters called Man City ATL Cityzens that hosted tons of events, and in future I plan to go to as many as I can.
I watched the FA Cup final between Man City and Crystal Palace with them. We lost, but it was comforting to share that disappointment with over 100 other City fans.
The group watches the matches at the BrewHouse Cafe, and the vibe is incredible.
The supporters are passionate, dedicated, and genuinely friendly.
The bar is packed on match days, and this kind of energy is only going to keep growing.
