Crystal Palace will look to maintain their impressive form when they take on Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Saturday at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles have lost only twice in their last 10 games, and they are heading into this fixture on the back of three straight wins in all competitions.

Ipswich, on the other hand, have not won a league game this year, and Chris Sutton thinks the Tractor Boys will not be getting three points against Palace either.

They are in a serious relegation fight and need to pick up wins to get out of the relegation zone. They are five points behind Wolverhampton Wanderers at the moment.

Palace will be without Jean-Philippe Mateta for this game. The French striker was stretchered off the pitch following an instance of serious foul play against Millwall in the FA Cup, and he is not fit to play.

In his place, Eddie Nketiah will lead the line, and Sutton thinks it’s a “big chance” for the former Arsenal striker to make an impact.

The popular pundit has predicted a 1-0 win for Crystal Palace.

He said to BBC Sport: “The question is how Crystal Palace are going to cope without Jean-Philippe Mateta, who was injured in their FA Cup win over Millwall.

“Mateta scored the winner when Palace beat Ipswich at Portman Road in December, but it is not just his goals that the Eagles will miss – it’s his presence up front that has been so important for them too.

“I am guessing Eddie Nketiah will lead their attack in his absence, and this is a big chance for him to shine.”

Oliver Glasner provides an encouraging update on Mateta

Mateta has been in great form recently, and losing him will be a huge blow.

But the good news is that Mateta probably won’t be out for a long time. He received specialist treatment and 25 stitches for a severe laceration on his left ear.

Glasner confirmed that Mateta is recovering well and will go with the team to Marbella for individual training.

Palace will travel to Marbella for a warm-weather training camp after the weekend’s game. Mateta could be involved against Fulham after the international break.

Will Hughes is also unavailable for this game, as he is suspended over the accumulation of yellow cards.
