León, Guanajuato - Despite fighting until the end of the match and in the midst of controversial refereeing decisions, Guadalajara failed to win in their visit to León, losing 2-1 on Tuesday night at the Nou Camp Stadium. The Rebaño were insistent and in the final stretch managed to score the goal that meant the tie, but it was disallowed for an alleged offside.
After this setback, Chivas will have to pick up their game immediately and think about the next match, which will be against Querétaro next Saturday at the Akron Stadium.
The duel was hard-fought and, as expected, had dangerous actions in both goals. It was small details that decided the destiny of the match.
The goals- The home side opened the scoring at 14' through Jhonder Cádiz, who headed in a free kick from the right flank.- The Rebaño Sagrado equalized at 42' thanks to a great collective play, as Erick Gutiérrez projected Mateo Chávez down the left flank, who shook off his marker and escaped to the back line from where he put a delayed pass into the heart of the box for Yael Padilla to simply slot the ball into the cage!- The Panzas Verdes retook the lead at 65' with a cross shot from point blank range by Jhonder Cádiz, which 'Tala' came up just short of deflecting for a corner.
The dangerous ones- At the 8th minute, 'Tiba' made a long cross from his own field to set up Camberos, who controlled the ball as if with his hand outside the big area, then shook off the mark of 2 defenders and took a quick line that went for the base of the left post.- At 60', 'Tala' came up big under the three posts, after saving a penalty kick with a spectacular save to his right.- At 77', Guadalajara created a good collective move down the left flank, thanks to Javier Hernández and Cade Cowell, who created a loose ball in the local area, which Armando González then sent into the back of the net, but the goal was disallowed for a dubious offside.
