Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez has become a sought-after prospect in the market right now, with Chelsea among the clubs interested in his services.
A recent report suggested that the Blues had even tabled a gigantic offer for the Spanish international, which was rejected by Barcelona.
Now, Mundo Deportivo claims that Chelsea had tabled a tempting player exchange deal for Fermin Lopez.
The Blues were willing to trade Christopher Nkunku with Fermin, who is highly rated by coach Enzo Maresca.
However, the report adds that the offer was vehemently rejected by Barcelona’s top bosses, including president Joan Laporta and coach Hansi Flick.
Despite Nkunku’s undeniable talent and Barcelona’s seemingly growing desire to sign a new attacker, the club did not consider the offer.

As per the report, Hansi Flick has made it clear that Fermin is part of his plans for the upcoming season, especially after the youngster’s impressive campaign, where he tallied eight goals and ten assists in 46 matches.
While Barcelona are looking to reinforce their attack, with top priority being given to Liverpool’s Luis Diaz, the idea of offloading Fermin has been firmly rejected by both Joan Laporta and Flick.
Nkunku is seen more as a goalscoring striker, while Fermin offers versatility, technical quality, and a long-term upside.
As of now, the only way Barcelona would consider letting Fermin leave is if the player himself requests a move, possibly in search of more playing time ahead of the 2026 World Cup in North America.
Until then, Barcelona are unlikely to consider any offer for Fermin Lopez.
