Chelsea are set to ease their Premier League Profit and Sustainability (PSR) concerns with the sale of Omari Hutchinson to Ipswich for a fee between £20m and £25m.

Hutchinson spent last season on loan at Ipswich and helped the club to promotion to the Premier League, with the Tractor Boys set to return to the top flight for the first time since 2001-02 this season.

The 20-year-old underlined his potential with 10 goals and five assists despite starting just 20 league games for Kieran McKenna’s team, earning the club’s Young Player of the Year award.

Ipswich have now agreed a deal to sign Hutchinson on a permanent basis for a fee in the region of £25m, with Fabrizio Romano revealing negotiations are ongoing over the player’s contract. Chelsea will include a sell-on clause as part of the deal but there will be no buy-back option inserted.

Hutchinson, who has won two senior caps for Jamaica after representing England at youth level, joined Chelsea from London rivals Arsenal for an undisclosed fee believed to be around £5m in 2022.

He made just two senior appearances for the Blues and his sale will bring in vital funds as the West Londoners look to remain compliant with PSR before the June 30 deadline for the financial year.
