Borussia Dortmund officials have taken a significant step forward in their pursuit of Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka and young defender Aaron Anselmino. Negotiations have advanced quickly after a high-level meeting in London between senior figures from both clubs, according to Sky Sports Germany.

Talks Moving Towards Agreement

Sky Sports Germany revealed that BVB chiefs Lars Ricken and Sebastian Kehl travelled to London for face-to-face discussions before returning to Germany for Dortmund’s Bundesliga opener against St Pauli. Their efforts appear to have paid off.

“The talks have progressed, and both parties have moved significantly closer together in the negotiations. However, the double deal has not yet been finalized. All parties are optimistic that it will be finalized soon,” the report stated.

The total package is understood to be €25 million for Chukwuemeka’s permanent transfer, alongside a simple loan for Anselmino. “The prospect of both Cresswell and Anselmino being signed is out of the question,” the report confirmed, underlining Dortmund’s disciplined approach in the market.
