Chelsea have a clear path to land Napoli standout Victor Osimhen as Paris Saint-Germain appear to be out of the race for the Nigerian goal scorer. Despite the ankle injury to Gonçalo Ramos, the Parisians will reportedly be standing pat regarding a No. 9.

This past weekend, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta hinted that the club aren’t in the market for a new striker this summer despite the links to Osimhen.

“I have faith in [Havertz], we have faith in [Gabriel Jesus]. [Leandro Trossard] has played in that position,” Arteta told talkSPORT.

“So we have different qualities in there and the best thing we can do is trust the players that we have and try improve them. They are so good and so willing and that’s what we focus on.”

As a result, it gives the Blues the green light to lead the race for the 25-year-old. Moreover, L’Equipe reports that PSG have decided not to pursue a deal for Osimhen despite Ramos’ injury blow. Another outlet confirms that whatever business the Parisians do in the final stages of the transfer window, it won’t be for a striker.

Following a 2-0 loss to Manchester City, it will be interesting to see if the Blues decide to bring Osimhen to Stamford Bridge or look elsewhere for a No. 9.
