With just “two sleeps” to go until the January transfer market opens, we’ve just had our first sniff of a really fresh rumour from a solid source.
Santi Aouna of Footmercato is reporting that Chelsea have made contact with PSG over a potential move for out of favour striker Randal Kolo Muani next month.
His report says that a lack of playing time in Paris could mean the France international wants a move, and Chelsea could offer him that escape. There are a number of teams interested in taking the out of favour striker on – Juventus, Monaco, Man U, and AC Milan are among the sides reported to have already sounded out PSG about a move in January.
The Blues were linked with Kolo Muani before his PSG move, with the same sporting directors in place.

Chelsea’s striker situation remains a bit of a head scratcher. On the one hand, Nicolas Jackson is doing really well, and looks to have developed into one of the league’s top strikers already – with plenty of room still to grow.
That has likely ruled out any move for a superstar to play in the team ahead of him. But we’ve seen him slow down a littl ein recent games, and there’s no doubt he could use a backup trusted more than Marc Guiu. Could Kolo Muani be that man? Would he be happy to be our B team striker? Is he even good enough to be our B team striker? He’s certainly not popular or highly rated in Paris.
If it’s a loan, we can see it happening. But a permanent deal would seem like a mistake, given we only really want to move for players who are a definite upgrade on what we already have.
