Chelsea fan and Talksport presenter, Rory Jennings, has been making his predictions for the 2025/26 Premier League season.
Eight weeks tonight, it all kicks off again.
An 8pm kick-off on Friday 15 August, with Liverpool v Bournemouth.
Newcastle United are in action in the second Premier League match of the new season, away at Aston Villa, a 12.30pm kick-off on Saturday 16 August.
So how will it all end up in this upcoming 2025/26 Premier League season?
Chelsea fan Rory Jennings giving these predictions to Talksport of Premier League top seven and bottom three, plus top goalscorer:
Liverpool
Manchester City
“Pep Guardiola will reignite his war with Liverpool, he will go for the jugular and do his best to win the league, but ultimately this Manchester City team will fall short and finish second.”
Chelsea
“I think we [Chelsea] are going to launch a serious and sustained bid for the league title.”
Arsenal
Newcastle United
Aston Villa
Everton
“This is going to sound wild but there is an unpredictable quality to this Everton team going into the new season. Nobody knows what they’re going to be like in this new ground.
“If they can use and galvanise the new stadium to the best of their ability, there is a chance that Everton are going to finish in 7th spot.”
Rory Jennings on which three clubs he thinks will be relegated:
West Ham
Burnley
Sunderland
“I think the Premier League is a better place with big, prestigious clubs like Sunderland in the top flight.
“But I think they’ve got their work cut out. On some level, I feel like they’ve been promoted a touch too early.”
Top goalscorer of the 2025/26 Premier League season:
Alexander Isak
“Newcastle’s Alexander Isak will win the Golden Boot.
“Elite player, brilliant footballer, a true icon in the making.”
Rory Jennings also referenced the fact that Mo Salah could miss around six weeks of the season due to preparation for and participation in the African Cup of Nations Finals with Egypt, these are taking place in December 2025 and January 2026.
I have been surprised that with all the Bryan Mbeumo speculation, which club might sign him, that I have never seen it mentioned as a negative factor in signing the Brentford star. The fact that he will also miss up to six weeks in the middle of next week, as he will be away with Cameroon.
