WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Addicks this afternoon.
The 23-year-old joins Charlton Athletic after spending the last 18 months with Everton. Bissell was an ever-present for Everton in the Barclays Women’s Super League last season while she has gone on to make 10 appearances for The Blue Girls in league competition this term.
Bissell started out on Manchester City’s books before joining Bristol City. The midfielder then combined her studies with playing football in the United States before joining latest club Everton last year.
Bissell has proved her quality on Merseyside and she will now be hoping to make a significant contribution to Charlton Athletic’s promotion bid.
After joining Charlton Athletic, Bissell said “When you look at Charlton as a team and its history, it’s a really big club. After speaking with Karen [Hills] and hearing her vision and philosophy, I knew it was something I wanted to be part of. You can see how well the girls performed last season and the progress they’re making now. I’m excited to help build and create good memories here.”
Bissell is Charlton Athletic’s first signing of the January transfer window. She could make her debut in tomorrow’s Barclays Women’s Championship fixture against Sheffield United at The Valley.
