The 23-year-old scored the only goal of the game after just 2 minutes to confine Newcastle Jets to an opening day defeat…
Tilio joined Celtic in a deal worth £2m last summer but after just six months, the Australian returned to Melbourne City on a loan deal. The attacker was confirmed to remain with the A-League side for the 2024/25 campaign.
It will be interesting to see how Tilio fares in Australia after making his name Down Under. Celtic will be keeping tabs on the player as they look to consider reintegration or future transfer deals.
The young attacker came to the club with an injury which put him behind the rest of the squad, meaning that when he did join up with the rest of the squad, he was lacking sharpness. Brendan said that the player had struggled to cope with the step-up since arriving.
Hopefully a full campaign in Melbourne with City will allow the player to continue his progression with a view to returning for Celtic pre-season next summer.
