Former Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong has been linked with a sensational move to Wrexham. The Scotland Internationalist left Sheffield Wednesday after his short term deal expired with the Hillsborough club, who are in a precarious financial situation.
The 33-year-old is reportedly a target for the hugely ambitious Welsh side, who were recently promoted to the EFL Championship. Wrexham, who are backed by Hollywood’s Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, have shot to prominence owing to the A-Lister’s takeover and subsequent success.
According to The Sun, Wrexham are monitoring the Celtic Invincible, who is available on a free transfer.
With the Scotland squads upcoming, the ex-Celtic and Southampton star will fancy his chances at working his way back into Steve Clarke’s reckoning. Although, that will require regular game time – especially given the emergence of Lennon Miller.

Celtic sold Armstrong in the summer of 2018 in a deal worth in excess of £7m. The departure was inevitable as Armstrong clearly wanted to have a crack at the Premier League.
Armstrong was a top player for Celtic, really kicking on under Brendan Rodgers and helping Celtic towards a Double Treble. After signing alongside Gary Mackay-Steven, Armstrong went onto make 144 appearances for Celtic, scoring 28 times and racking up 25 assists.
