Now, a report from Football Insider claims that Schlupp could be set for an emotional return to the club in the summer. With Schlupp’s Crystal Palace deal expiring in the summer, which was believed to be worth £70k-per-week, the player is open to find himself a new club.

Leicester would be a decent move for the player as it is expected that they will be competing at the top end of the Championship. Schlupp is a versatile option, which will appeal to any manager that fills the dugout. The Ghanaian international can play at left back, central midfield or left wing. Celtic may also look at a deal but the reality is that the player will want a lengthy, well paid deal as he enters the final few years of his playing career.

Celtic will likely allow both Schlupp and Greg Taylor to depart with Kieran Tierney returning. The 27-year-old made his final home appearance with Arsenal at The Emirates before bowing out with The Gunners. KT had offers from Everton, Seville, Bayer Leverkusen and Juventus but opted to return to Celtic. The Scottish Champions will need to delve into the transfer market if they are to sign a back up left back as Tierney’s game time is expected to be managed more carefully than his first spell.
