Celtic have announced that Kieran Tierney has returned to the club on a free transfer from Arsenal.

The boyhood fan rose through the ranks at Parkhead and made 170 appearances, winning multiple domestic honours, before departing for the Gunners in 2019 in a club record sale.

He now returns to Parkhead upon the expiry of his Arsenal contract, with the Scotland international not offered fresh terms at the Emirates Stadium and has signed a five-year contract with the Hoops.

According to The Telegraph, Celtic beat competition from Juventus, Bayer Leverkusen, Sevilla and Everton to seal the Scotland star's return to Glasgow.

Tierney, who turned 28 last week, leaves Arsenal after six years (including a season-long loan spent at Real Sociedad) and won an FA Cup and two Community Shields during his time in north London.

However, he fell down the left-back pecking order behind Riccardo Calafiori, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jakub Kiwior and most recently, Myles Lewis-Skelly.
