Carabao Cup first-round draw in full: Bromley handed Ipswich tie as Charlton face Stevenage

Birmingham battle Sheffield United and Wrexham face Hull in all-Championship showdowns

Bromley’s meeting with Ipswich is one of the standout ties to emerge from the Carabao Cup first-round draw.

The Ravens, who today discovered they will face Shrewsbury Town in their 2025-26 League Two opener, are competing in the League Cup for only the second time in their history.

And they will welcome the Tractor Boys - just relegated from the Premier League - to Hayes Lane the week commencing August 11, 2025 as the first round of the competition gets underway.

Elsewhere, Leyton Orient host fellow League One side Wycombe, Championship new-boys Charlton face Stevenage at the Valley and Millwall will face either Barnet or Newport.

Queens Park Rangers, meanwhile, have been drawn away against Plymouth.

A preliminary round will take place in early August, featuring the clubs that finished 21st and 22nd in League Two last season and the two that were promoted from the National League.

It means Accrington Stanley will face Oldham and Barnet take on Newport County for a place in the first round of the Carabao Cup.

Premier League teams will enter in the second round and the top-flight clubs competing in Europe, including holders Newcastle and last year’s beaten finalists Liverpool, will then enter in the third.
