Legendary Roma defender Vincent Candela gave an interview to today’s edition of Il Corriere della Sera, expressing his point of view on Roma’s possible future.

Speaking about the ideal coach to lead the team next season, the former defender has no doubts: “Gasperini is the right man for Roma,” he stated bluntly, showing full confidence in the Bergamo coach’s ability to enhance young players and give the group a strong identity.

“You can feel the desire to build something serious. The stadium is always full, the shot never fails. But the real signal came with the choice of people: Gasperini on the bench, Massara in management and Ranieri as guarantor. This is a trio that gives guarantees, a hard core on which a real project can be built.”

“Is Gasperini the right man for the job? Absolutely. He did very well in Bergamo, but Rome is a different place. You need personality and he has plenty of it.”
