Han-Noah Massengo (23) is set to return to AJ Auxerre on loan until the end of the season, according to a report from L’Équipe.
The midfielder, who came through the ranks at AS Monaco, spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Auxerre. Despite impressing in the short stint, he didn’t manage to keep L’AJA in the top flight and in that summer, he made the move to Burnley.
However, he has failed to establish himself at Burnley, even despite the Lancashire club’s demotion to the EFL Championship. This season, he has registered just 93 minutes. As a result, a return to the Bourgogne region is now imminent, L’Équipe understands.
Unlike last time, Auxerre are flying high in Ligue 1 and Massengo will strengthen a midfield that could make an unlikely challenge for European football. Reinforcements in this sector are necessary given that a departure for Rayan Ravloson looks likely.
