Brentford Women’s hopes of a perfect season were dashed on the final day as they fell to a 4–1 defeat away at Bromley in the LSE Division One North. Having already secured the league title last weekend, a victory would have seen the Bees complete a 21-win campaign and go down as invincibles - but it wasn’t to be.

Chloe Logie pulled one back to make it 2–1 in the second half, briefly giving Brentford hope, but Bromley responded well and sealed a deserved win to confirm their position as runners-up. While the result ended the Bees’ unbeaten run, it takes nothing away from a historic season for Karleigh Osborne’s side.

There was an early chance for the away side as Logie found herself one-on-one with the goalkeeper but she could not beat the Bromley goalkeeper who made a comfortable save.

Nikki Woods was next to have a chance for Osborne's side as she raced clear and took a shot just inside the area under pressure from her marker, but again the home goalkeeper made a fine stop to deny the winger.

The Ravens were the better team for the opening 30 minutes of the game and Sophie Boycott was called into action as she made a great stop with her left foot.

A loose backpass was pounced on by a Bromley attacker as they took the lead 30 seconds into the second period.

The home side scored their second as they were awarded a penalty for a handball in the box. The penalty was dispatched as Boycott was sent the wrong way.

The Bees responded immediately as Logie finished well from a tight angle to halve the deficit.

It did little to change the momentum though as Bromley added two goals to the scoreline to race clear of the away side.

Despite the heavy defeat, the Bees will be pleased with their tremendous efforts this season which have resulted in a league and cup double.

Next weekend's game against Hackney Women has been cancelled as the side from east London are unable to fulfil the fixture, which has seen Osborne's side awarded the three points. Details regarding a trophy lift will be communicated in due course.
