The Robins announced the news via a post on their official club website this evening.
The 18-year-old makes the move to Ashton Gate off the back of a spell playing her football in the SSE Airtricity League of Ireland Women’s Premier Division with Shamrock Rovers. O’Leary has made 48 appearances for The Hoops over the last two seasons, scoring 11 goals. Her performances in a Shamrock Rovers shirt have won her a whole host of awards both at club and league level.
On the international stage, O’Leary is the captain of the Republic of Ireland Under-19 side. She will be hoping to push for senior honours for her country in the coming years.
After signing for Bristol City, O’Leary said “I’m really excited, I’ve been in training with the girls a few times and I’m just looking forward to getting going properly.
“I think the ambition of the club is really good, they’re looking for promotion and in form at the moment.”
O’Leary could be available for selection when Bristol City travel to Arsenal in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup fourth round this weekend, subject to international clearance being obtained.
