The club recently lost Thomas Frank, who left to take charge of Tottenham Hotspur.

Frank played a key role in Brentford’s rise to the Premier League. He also helped the team remain competitive in the top flight.

Andrews is a potential option. He has worked under Frank since 2023 and is respected within the club.

While he is mainly known as the set-piece coach, his knowledge and ability are wide-ranging.

Andrews would be a risky appointment for Brentford

Andrews was an assistant to Karl Robinson at MK Dons. He later worked with Stephen Kenny as an assistant for both the Republic of Ireland under-21 and senior national teams.

He joined Sheffield United’s coaching staff under Chris Wilder in 2023. He stayed with the club until the end of the season. He was then appointed as Brentford’s set-piece coach.

Brentford have a history of promoting from within. Frank had previously worked under Dean Smith before being promoted to manager.

This approach could work in favour of Andrews, who already understands the club’s style and values. Although no final decision has been made, Andrews is among the serious options.

However, he would be a risky appointment as he has no experience of managing a Premier League club.
