The 20-year-old initially joined the Bees on loan in January and has since impressed the coaching staff enough to earn a long-term stay in west London. His energy, positional discipline and maturity have made him a standout figure in Brentford’s defensive setup.

“I am so excited to extend my stay at Brentford,” Kayode told Sky Sports. “I have felt so welcome from the first day I arrived at the club, thanks to my team-mates and the care the coaching staff have shown me. I’ve wanted to play in the Premier League since I was a child and it’s been so good to do that here. I can’t wait for more next season and beyond!”
This move signals Brentford’s intent to build with purpose, backing youth with promise and potential.
Michael Kayode has slotted into the squad with maturity far beyond his years. The fact that the club have secured his services until 2030 is a testament not just to his talent but also to the environment Thomas Frank has built.

Supporters will remember his debut with pride—confident on the ball, tactically sharp and completely unfazed by the physical demands of Premier League football. The ability to tie down a player of such calibre while he’s still developing signals Brentford’s growth not just as a club that competes, but one that retains and nurtures emerging stars.
There’s also a real sense that Kayode connects with the ethos of the club. His words—“I have felt so welcome from the first day I arrived”—echo the sentiments of a team culture that’s become a defining strength. Brentford’s success has never been about splashing cash, but rather about scouting smartly, developing cleverly, and integrating players with character. Kayode fits that mould perfectly.
Fans will now be eager to see how he continues to evolve. There’s plenty of potential, but there’s also a player who already looks Premier League-ready.
