Boubakary Soumaré paying attention to transfer market after Leicester relegation

According to a report from RMC Sport, Boubakary Soumaré (26) and his entourage are paying close attention to the transfer market after Leicester City confirmed their relegation from the Premier League with a 1-0 loss to Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

A former Ligue 1 champion with Lille OSC in the 2020/2021 season, Soumaré could be of interest to French clubs looking for a deal. The midfielder’s contract with The Foxes only lasts until 2026, and the club could be open to a transfer to bring in additional funds.

After spending the 2023/24 season on loan at Sevilla FC, it had looked as if Soumaré would be on the move last summer. There were reports linking the defensive midfielder with a return to Ligue 1, with Olympique Lyonnais and AS Monaco thought to be interested, while Turkish side Fenerbahçe were also said to be in the market.
