Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta has been in a good run of form since the international break, with two league goals plus an assist in their 3-0 FA Cup semi-final win against Aston Villa. He remains a sound asset this week for FPL, with the cup final still a fortnight away. An increase to his minutes expected as Oliver Glasner’s side look for consistency.
Matheus Cunha has been in sensational form since returning from suspension, amassing two goals and three assists in his last five Premier League games. That takes him to 22 goal involvements for the season and his form is impossible to ignore despite the challenging fixture, with Manchester City keeping three clean sheets in five since the international break.
Sticking with this fixture, and the AI predictions also find value in Man City attackers for this fixture and with a trip to Southampton next weekend, there’s longevity in selecting their assets. Kevin De Bruyne has started all of their last four league games, with one goal and one assist in this time. He has five goals and five assists in seven league starts against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Omar Marmoush remains an attractive pick this week with Erling Haaland not yet fit following injury. Marmoush has started 11 league games, with seven goal involvements in this time. Two of those goal involvements have come since the international break, where he’s started all five league games. He has the potential to provide a fast start to the gameweek in this Friday evening fixture.
At the time of writing, Brentford’s good form continues, with draws against Chelsea and Arsenal, plus a big 4-2 win against Brighton and Hove Albion. In this period, Wissa has contributed two goals and one assist. Up next it’s a Man Utd side likely to be fatigued from Europa League action on Thursday evening, giving the Bees a significant edge.
It’s easy to see why Bryan Mbeumo is the most popular transfer in this week given the favourable home game for Brentford, with many managers considering him for the armband. He has 25 goal involvements this season and sits second only to Mo Salah for fantasy points in this campaign. He has three goals and one assist since the international break, plus he’s on penalties.
Alexander Isak remains a popular pick in the game with 22 goals this season, with Newcastle United motivated to continue their scoring form with the potential for Champions League next season. They have won five of six league games since the international break, scoring 18 goals in this spell, with Isak contributing three goals and one assist in this period. He leads the way for big chances in this time.
Chelsea must continue to strive for points on the board in the Premier League to gain Champions League next season, plus they have Europa Conference League semi-final action in their schedule. AI predictions still favour Cole Palmer, despite no goals in the Premier League since January, although he has contributed two assists since the last international break.
Bukayo Saka has started one league game since returning from injury following the last international break, with one goal in this period. He played 90 minutes in Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League this midweek, with the Gunners having it all to do in the away leg next midweek. That means his minutes are at risk in this plum home league game.
Mo Salah tops the AI rankings once again, despite a modest prediction of just seven points this time out for the trip to Chelsea. He has the pedigree against his former employers, with a goal and an assist in the reverse fixture. Liverpool should now be able to play with more freedom with the title sewn up and so there’s hopes Salah can improve on his 17 double-digit hauls in this campaign.
