Bayern Munich’s transfer window remains as busy as ever, with both arrivals and departures under consideration as the club reshapes its squad ahead of the 2025/26 season, according to Bavarian Football Works and Sky Germany.

One of the major stories surrounds Portuguese midfielder João Palhinha. Just a year after arriving in Munich from Fulham for a reported €51 million, Bayern are understood to be open to moving the 30-year-old on. Sport Bild’s Tobi Altschäffl reports, via Bavarian Football Works, that the club would consider offers in the €25–30 million range, representing a sizeable financial loss. Inter Milan are among the sides expressing interest. Palhinha struggled to make a consistent impact in his first season, hampered by injuries and facing stiff competition for minutes in midfield from the likes of Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlović, Leon Goretzka, and new signings such as Tom Bischof.

While Palhinha’s international manager, Roberto Martínez, continues to rate him highly for Portugal, his prospects of regular action under Vincent Kompany appear limited if he remains. Bayern’s openness to sell suggests a pragmatic willingness to refresh the squad, even when it means accepting a notable transfer loss.

Elsewhere, the club’s pursuit of attacking reinforcements has led to links with Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard. As discussed on the Bavarian Podcast Works Show (Bavarian Football Works), Trossard is seen as an alternative option, though significant progress is yet to be reported and any move would depend on Arsenal’s willingness to negotiate.

Bayern’s interest in VfB Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade continues, with negotiations ongoing after an initial bid was reportedly knocked back. The club is searching for ways to strengthen both its attack and squad depth amidst a changing Bundesliga landscape.

While the primary focus remains on new faces, the club’s approach this summer under sporting directors Max Eberl and Christoph Freund has also emphasized making tough decisions with existing players—exemplified by Palhinha’s uncertain future. Whether those decisions lead to major arrivals or further unexpected departures will be closely watched as the transfer window progresses.
