Bayern Munich make call on January move for Barcelona star Dani Olmo | OneFootball

The brass at German giants Bayern Munich have come to a decision on a potential winter swoop for Barcelona star Dani Olmo.

That’s according to Diario Sport, citing BILD, who have on Monday provided an insight into the situation.

The name of midfielder Olmo has of course dominated the headlines across all of Europe over the course of the last week. This comes as Barcelona continue to come up short in efforts to register the 26-year-old for the remainder of the campaign.

A whole host of potential outcomes have in turn been touted in the media, one of which would see Olmo depart Catalunya’s capital on a temporary basis this month.

As much would not come in the form of a loan, but rather see his Barcelona contract terminated, with an agreement in place for a fresh deal to be signed in the summer.

This would allow for Olmo to continue playing football over the months ahead.

With this as the backdrop, one club who had been tipped to launch a potential mid-season move for the Euro 2024 winner were the aforementioned Bayern Munich.

Long-term admirers of Olmo’s talents, the Bavarians sought out information on what would be required to strike a January deal for his signature.

In the end, however, Bayern made the call not to move forward with any such move.

As per Sport:

‘According to ‘Bild’, the German team would not be in a position to bid for Olmo if they cannot sign him on a long-term basis, something that would not be possible with total certainty.’
